Hamish & Andy take the road less traveled through the isles of Great Britain and Ireland in an attempt to discover why after centuries of war, famine, plagues, and poor sporting teams, the Irish & British still manage to have a laugh more than most.

In their very first overseas adventure, Hamish, Andy and their trusty motorhome Abravan Lincoln travel from Florida to LA and along the way swim with Alligators, go anvil shooting, lose some blood at a football game and play for high stakes in Vegas.

In a rare example of foresight, Hamish and Andy have announced that they’ve “kind of, pretty much” decided what they want to do with the extra time they have in 2011 – they are going on a gap year to America. However, Hamish and Andy remembered that they told Channel Nine they would do a TV show this year as well, so while continuing their weekly radio show for Austereo's Today Network, they’ll now attempt to combine their dream gap year with a TV series.

Hamish & Andy are back for another adventure! As an excuse to stitch each other up, the boys will plan each others activities leaving plenty of room for more idiotic and downright dangerous activities to make this a truly "perfect" holiday.

At the outset of the Great War, Ireland is still part of the British Empire, but is on the verge of a civil war between Nationalists and Unionists. When Britain declares war on Germany, both sides find a unified cause and join up to fight. Three Irish Divisions are formed, with the first seeing action during the disastrous Gallipoli campaign. While Irish soldiers fight and die abroad, a little-known Republican minority sparks Dublin's Easter Rising, forcing Britain to allocate much-needed troops to Ireland.
